You've Been "Caught In The Act!"
Students all around the school are getting, "caught in the act" of being good kids.  Teachers are referring them to the office for being: honest, truthful, wise, humble, courageous, generous, loving, exhibiting integrity or fortitude.  Your student may be next!

"Running Around The World"
Students at school are running one lap around the playground before they go to
Nolan
Nolan Berglund - Jr. Boy Ambassador
play on the playground equipment.  World Cultures School has joined us and we are calling our efforts, "Running Around The World."  We should travel approximately 25,000 miles by the end of the school year.  (700 students times .25 miles a-day times 172 days of school = more than enough!                                      Here's how far we are:

Behavior Expectations At School

Before school began we sat down as a staff to discuss all the good behavior that we saw last year.
Skyler
Skyler Kuczaboski - Sr. Girl Ambassador
We decided to hold all of our students to the high expectation of following these positive behaviors.

Flu News You Can Use

More helpful hints to help fend off the pesky flu bug this year from Sue Russell, our nurse.

  • Teach your children to wash their hands often with soap and water and set a good example by doing it yourself.
  • Teach children not to share personal items like drinks, food or unwashed utensils.  Teach them to cough into the sleeve of their shirt, not their hands.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of the flu.  They include: fever (100 degrees
    tyriek
Tyriek Andrews - Sr. Boy Ambassador
Fahrenheit or greater), cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache and feeling very tired.
  • Keep sick children home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have fever or do not have signs of fever, without using fever-reducing drugs.
  • Children 5 years or younger who are experiencing symptoms of influenza-like illness should stay home for at least seven days after there is no longer a fever or signs of a fever.
  • Do not send children to school if they are sick.
  • Please remember to call school everyday to let the office know if your child is out ill.

Funds For Our School - "Got Milk Caps?"
Please save Kemps milk caps and labels from many of the food products that you use.
These labels will help the school purchase items throughout the school year. Here are just a few of the items you may have in your kitchen: Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, General Mills, and Hickory Farms. Just cut out the label or the proof of purchase and send it to school. You can do this all school year!
