The Seven Ojibwe Teachings and Lakota Virtues in Action!

Image Gallery: The 7 Teachings In ACTION!
Here at American Indian Magnet School, we teach our students about the 7 Ojibwe Teachings and 4 Lakota Virtues. These character value teachings are assigned to a particular month and are reinforced by our Book Of the Month selection. Students from Kindergarten to 6th grade are creating a book based on these teachings, entitled, “The 7 Teachings In Action.” Students take photographs depicting what each teaching looks like in their everyday life. Students use a computer program, Comic Life, to narrate these teachings with thought/talking bubbles. These comic-like scenarios are also broadcast throughout the school. The monthly teachings/virtues are: September = Hopes and Dreams October = Respect November/December = Fortitude January = Wisdom February = Courage March = Humility April = Truth/Honesty May/June = Love Since these teachings are ongoing, please check back monthly to see the latest Comic Life teaching.
