| | | About Ms. Mahoney | | | | Welcome fellow "crazy cats" to Ms. Mahoney's page! | I grew up in north Minneapolis and attended public school there. In Junior and Senior High, I participated in the Minnesota for Talented Youth Program. I went to the College of St. Catherine for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have also done a lot of traveling both in the U.S. and abroad. | | Maureen Mahoney | I LOVE teaching and living in the inner city! I enjoy teaching children new technology and learning new things myself. I look forward to my enrichment groups where we solve puzzles, brainstorm ideas, try new games, create projects, etc. Everyday is a new adventure for both my students and me. I LOVE being at American Indian Magnet because | | Taken during the American Indian Day Parade. Our theme was the "ABCs of the prairie garden" - I am "Q" for Queen Bee! | I believe in core American Indian teachings. Specifically, respect for elders, the sacredness of children, honoring and respecting the earth, being accountable to the larger community, and the innate belief in experiential (hands on) learning. Presently, I live on the east side of | | Arthur & Guenie (Lil' Girl). Merlin's on top of the couch. | Saint Paul with my 3 cats: Merlin, Arthur and Guinevere. In my free time I enjoy working in my garden, volunteering for the Irish Community, attending powwows, learning more about the Native American Community, reading, watching the Science, History and Discovery Channels, home improvement (craft-type projects), and other things.
