Volunteer/Donate Site Map		Home > Classrooms > Third Grade > Ms. Fairbanks Print View About Ms. Fairbanks     Boozhoo!  My name is Ms. Karen Fairbanks.  I have been teaching at the American Indian Magnet School in St. Paul since 1993.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and  a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Minnesota.  I currently teach third grade, but I also have experience in teaching second and fourth grade.     I am an Ojibwe Indian.  My parents are from the White Earth Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota, but I was born and raised in south Minneapolis.  I am a traditional Karen Fairbanks dancer.  In my spare time,  I make dance regalia and do quilting.  I have three children - Andrea, Laura, and Brandon, and two granddaughters - Samantha and Isabella.
